Rising trend of tomato process! Latest!

The price of tomatoes has increased by Rs. 10/- per kg, and they are now being sold at Rs. 150/- per kg at the Koyambedu wholesale vegetable, fruits, and flower supermarket.

Tomatoes are brought in lorries from the States of Karnataka and Andhra to Tamil Nadu for sale. Due to a drastic reduction in tomato yield or growth, the price of tomatoes has shot up steeply throughout the country!

The price of tomatoes has also increased in Tamil Nadu. Although it showed a reducing tendency last week, prices have gradually shot up from this Monday onwards!

Today (Saturday, 29th July), tomatoes are being sold at Rs. 150/- per kg, representing an increase of Rs. 10/- per kg. First-grade tomatoes are sold at Rs. 150/- per kg, second-grade tomatoes at Rs. 140/- per kg, and third-grade tomatoes at Rs. 130/- per kg.

In the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs, tomatoes are being sold in retail at Rs. 160/- per kg to Rs. 180/- per kg, depending on the quality. However, at the Farm Green Shops and some selected Fair Price Shops, tomatoes are sold at the usual rate of Rs. 60/- per kg.
