Please do not laminate academic certificates!

For the school students studying under the Tamil Nadu State Government Syllabus, Transfer Certificates are given when they change schools. For the students who wrote the Public Examinations for the 10th, 11th & 12th Standards, mark certificates are given and transfer certificates are issued to the students of the 10th & 12th Standards,
It is learned that these students laminate the above certificates. The officers of the Department of Education have given some advice through the school teachers to the students. The advice note:
"It is learnt that some students and/or their parents laminate the certificates. They do this to protect the certificates from getting moist or torn.
However, only if these certificates are NOT LAMINATED, it would be possible to verify these certificates in case of a job appointment or pursuing higher education and also to fix the government seal on the backside.
At the same time, if there is an occasion to open the lamination, the certificates are LIKELY TO GET DAMAGED!
As such, it is highly advisable to keep it in the original shape!"
