It has been announced that women availing of Women`s Right financial assistance can now open savings accounts linked to their Aadhar cards, not only in banks but also in Post Offices.
According to a notification released by the Tambaram Senior Grade Postal Division Superintendent, Major M. Manoj, it is stated that Savings Bank Accounts linked with Aadhar Card are mandatory for citizens availing of the Women`s Right Assistance, 100 Days` Job Opportunity Scheme, and the Prime Minister`s Kisan and Senior Citizens` Assistance.
Citizens who receive the mentioned assistance can also open a Savings Account in the India Post Payment Bank, with no minimum balance requirement for these accounts.
To open a Savings Account at the India Post Office Banks, eligible citizens can do so within minutes using a hand-held biometric device provided to the postman and other Village Post Office Staff. They need to provide their Aadhar Card details and cell phone number, along with their fingerprints.
Women who are entitled to receive the Women`s Right Financial Assistance can now collect their monthly financial aid from the nearest Post Office, facilitated by the Postmen.
