No supply of drinking water tomorrow (Tuesday, 8th August) in Teynampet, Kodambakkam and Adyar in Chennai Metro City!

The drinking water supply will be temporarily suspended in the Chennai Metro City Zones of Teynampet, Kodambakkam, and Adyar on Tuesday, August 8th.

A notification issued by the Chennai Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) states the following:

"The Chennai Metro Rail Company will be responsible for connecting the main pipelines from the Kilpauk drinking water purification plant in CHENNAI, specifically at Sterling Road.

Consequently, the affected areas will include Nungambakkam, Thousand Lights, Theagaraya Nagar, Teynampet, and Alwarpet under the Teynampet Zone; Theagaraya Nagar, C I T Nagar, and Saidapettai under the Kodambakkam Zone; and the Little Mount Area under the Adyar Zone. The distribution of drinking water will be halted from 6.00 AM on Tuesday, August 8th, until 6.00 AM on Wednesday.

Therefore, residents in the aforementioned areas are advised to make arrangements in advance to store an adequate quantity of drinking water. In case of any urgent need for drinking water, residents can register their request online.

Furthermore, it is announced that for areas without access to drinking water supply facilities and those experiencing low water pressure, drinking water will be distributed as usual through tanks and trucks."
