South Western Railway Notifies Changes to Train Services Due to Line Block at Kuppam Station

In connection with yard remodeling work between the Bisanattam – Mulanur/Santoshpur Section, the South Western Railway has announced alterations to train services. A line block/power block at Kuppam Station necessitates these changes.
Train No. 16526 KSR Bengaluru – Kanniyakumari Express:
The train scheduled to depart from KSR Bengaluru at 20:10 hrs on August 9th, will undergo diversion. It will follow an alternate route via Bengaluru Cantonment, Baiyyappanahalli, Hosur, Omalur, and Salem. Notably, this diversion will exclude stoppages at Krishnarajapuram, Whitefield, Malur, Bangarapet, Kuppam, and Tirupattur.
Train No. 12658 KSR Bengaluru – Dr MGR Chennai Central Mail Express:
The departure time of this train, originally scheduled at 22:40 hrs on August 9th, has been rescheduled. It will now leave KSR Bengaluru at 23:50 hrs, reflecting a delay of 1 hour and 10 minutes. This adjustment is in accordance with a statement issued by the Southern Railway (SR).
Transformation of Chennai Egmore – Tiruchendur Express:
The Chennai Egmore – Tiruchendur Express, specifically Train No. 16105/16106, is undergoing a significant change. It will be renumbered as Train No. 20605/20606 Superfast Services, effective from August 15th for departures from Chennai Egmore and from August 16th for departures from Tiruchendur. Moreover, the train`s speed will be increased.
- Train No. 20605 will depart from Chennai Egmore at 16:10 hrs and reach Tiruchendur by 6:10 am the following day.
- Train No. 20606 will leave Tiruchendur at 20:25 hrs and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 10:25 am the following day.
These adjustments aim to accommodate the ongoing developments and ensure a smoother travel experience for passengers.
