TNEA-2023: Second Round of Engineering Counseling Begins, Over 60,000 Candidates Eligible

The second round of counseling for engineering seats in Tamil Nadu begins on Wednesday, involving over 60,000 eligible candidates based on rank. The first round of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA-2023) saw 22,761 students participate with cut-off marks ranging from 200 to 177.
The Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE) allocated seats to over 19,000 students based on course and college preferences. The second round now welcomes aspiring engineers ranking from 176.99 to 142 in the general category.
Approximately 64,288 participants are expected, with choice filling from August 9th to 11th and tentative allotments on August 12th. Confirmation is due by August 13th, and reporting to colleges should be completed by August 19th.
Computer Science and Information Technology with specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science remained a popular choice this year, with about 10,700 students selecting these options.
The third and final round is slated for August 22nd to 24th, involving over 50,000 students ranking between 141.86 and 77.50. This year`s rank list covered more than 1.7 lakh students.
The second round caters to government school students with 7.5% reservation and the general category, taking place from August 9th to 11th.
