Today, 9th August is Aadi Kiruthigai festival and a local holiday has been announced for three districts belonging to Tamil Nadu. Holiday has been announced for the districts like Ranipet, Tiruvallur etc today.
In Salem district, a local holiday has been announced on the occasion of Kottai Mariamman festival Aadi Kiruthigai festival.
