India is all set to celebrate its Independence Day tomorrow (Tuesday, 15th August). Full-fledged arrangements have been made to celebrate Independence Day in Tamil Nadu as well. Tamil Nadu State`s Prime Minister, MK. K. Stalin, will hoist the National Flag at St. George Fort.
As such, traffic changes have been announced from 6:00 AM in the morning until the end of the function in the St. George Fort Area.
In a notification released by the Chennai Traffic Police Department, it is mentioned:
All vehicle movement will be stopped from Napier`s Bridge to the War Memorial (Kamarajar Road), from the War Memorial to the Reserve Bank Subway (North Side) (Rajaji Road), and the Flag Tree Road.
All vehicles moving from Kamarajar Road to Rajaji Salai and Parry`s Corner will have to take the route via Swami Sivananda Road, Anna Salai, Muthusamy Bridge, Muthusamy Salai, Raja Annamalai Mandram, and the North Fort Side Road (NFS Road) to reach Parry`s Corner.
All vehicles proceeding from Parry`s Corner to Kamarajar Salai via Rajaji Salai will need to take the route via NFS (North Fort Side) Street, Raja Annamalai Mandram Junction, Muthusamy Road, EVR Salai, Pallavavan Road, Anna Salai, and Wallaja Road.
All vehicles moving from Anna Salai via Flagtree Road to Parry`s Corner will have to go through the route of Wallaja Road Junction, Muthusamy Bridge, Raja Annamalai Mandram, and NFS Road to reach Parry`s Corner.
