As part of the ongoing metro rail construction in Chennai, crucial water pipe replacements are underway. Notably, the 900 mm diameter drinking water connection work on Koyambedu Kaliamman Kovil Street is in progress.
Regrettably, this necessary undertaking will result in a temporary disruption of drinking water supply. From tomorrow (August 16) evening until August 17 at 7 pm, areas including Annanagar, Thenampettai, Kodambakkam, and Valasaravakkam mandals will experience a halt in their water supply.
Residents of MMDA Colony, Nitakarai, Arumbakkam, Choolaimedu, T. Nagar, Koyambedu, Virugambakkam, Saligramam, Vadapalani, KK Nagar, Ashok Nagar, West Mambalam, Kodambakkam, C.I.T. Nagar, and Thaisa Apartment Complex are also advised to prepare for water scarcity during this period.
To counter any inconvenience, the public is urged to stock up on drinking water. For those in urgent need, registering on the Chennai Water Board`s website (https://chennaimetrowater.tn.gov.in/) will provide access to emergency water supplies via trucks.
