The Tamil Nadu government has executed another round of police officer reassignments within the state. In this recent wave of police transfers, a notable change has occurred in the Chennai Police`s Central Crime Branch (CCB -I), responsible for investigating high-profile cases, including those against Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji.

The Central Crime Branch handles a spectrum of cases involving financial crimes, forgery, and cybercrime. For efficient administration, the CCB comprises three distinct Intra divisions, each specializing in different categories of financial crimes. CCB-I specifically addresses cases related to job rackets and more.

As part of the reshuffle, DCP G Stalin, formerly of CCB-III, has been designated as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police for CCB-I, succeeding G Nagajothi. Nagajothi now assumes the role of Superintendent of Police at the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) in Chennai.

The current SP of SCRB, C Kalaichelvan, has been reassigned to the position of SP at the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Headquarters in Chennai. This position was previously held by S S Maheshwaran, who now takes on the role of DCP at the Modern Control Room in Chennai.

In further moves, S Arokiyam, the former DCP of the Modern Control Room, has been appointed as the DCP for CCB-III.

N Rajarajan, the former DCP of Salem (south), is now the DCP of Traffic for Coimbatore city, succeeding N Mathivanan. Mathivanan, in turn, will be assuming the responsibilities vacated by Rajarajan in Salem.
