Construction of a huge flyover from Teynampet to Saidapet, motorists could avoid signals at important places!!

On engineering, procurement and construction mode at a huge amount of Rs 525 crores, a 4 lane elevated corridor would be constructed from Teynampet to Saidapet on Anna Salai. For this work, the State Highways dept has now floated a tender.
Everyday, the arterial Anna Salai witnesses about 2.37 lakhs of vehicles. A 3.2km elevated corridor would be constructed in 24 months on this arterial Anna Salai. This was according to the tender document.
It is worth mentioning here that the flyover would be constructed from Anna Arivalayam in Teynampet to Saidapet signal. By this flyover, the motorists would be able to avoid signals present at important junctions like Eldams Road, SIET College, Cenotaph Road, Nandanam, CIT Nagar First and Third Main Road, Todd-Hunter Nagar- Jones Road.
The sensational piece of information is that this proposed 4lane elevated corridor would be able to accommodate approximately one lakh passenger car units out of a total 2.5 lakh passenger car units.
