Know about the sudden flooding and its effect in Tambaram & nearby places now!!

There was a sudden downpour on Thursday morning in Chennai and Tambaram was badly affected.
Till the morning of Thursday 1:30am from the previous night 1:30pm, Tambaram received 14.7cm of rain and as a result many areas around Tambaram were flooded.
The rains have affected Pozhichalur and water entered into many houses and there was heavy water stagnation in many interior roads also. This led to huge issues for many students as they found it difficult to go to their schools. Irumbuliyuir was flooded due to the sudden heavy rains and Arul Nagar and TTK Nagar residents found it tough. Places like Vandalur, Nedungundram, Alapakkam, Sadanandapuram, Peerkankaranai and Perungalathur etc were also flooded.
Even after just a few hours of rain, the locality has got flooded and this was mentioned by a Resident from Tambaram. She added that in the monsoon season it would be very difficult. The residents have even approached Tambaram Corporation officers to take steps from the areas getting flooded during the rains.
It was later pointed out by an official from Tambaram Corporation that it rained suddenly and the area recorded the highest rainfall. He hinted about the lining of SWD with lakes in the locality.
