The Tamil Nadu Government led by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is taking various steps to modernize the land administration department so that the general public is provided with quick and efficient service. In order to carry out their work effectively and efficiently, Jayalalithaa has ordered to provide laptops to 300 Land Surveyors in the State, at a cost of Rs 83.15 lakh. It also said the Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 13.66 lakh to procure `closed user group` sim cards for 1,138 Firka Surveyors, so that they could interact among themselves easily.
The government led by Jayalalithaa is making use of latest technology.
Also, in a bid to prevent any malpractice in the Sub-Registrar offices, the Chief Minister allocated Rs 3.50 crore to install two IP cameras at each and every Sub-Registrar office. Functioning of these would be monitored thanks to this initiative and the interference of touts would completely be eliminated.
