Chennai District Collector Announces Local Holiday for Onam Celebration

In a festive gesture, Chennai`s District Collector, M Aruna, IAS, has declared a local holiday in the city on August 29, 2023, in honor of the joyous occasion of Onam. This announcement brings delight to the residents of Chennai, who can now take part in the festivities without any work-related obligations.
However, residents need not fret about essential services, as they will continue to operate seamlessly to cater to the city`s needs during this holiday.
In a bid to maintain a balanced work schedule, September 2, 2023, will be a working day for the city to compensate for the Onam holiday. This approach ensures that essential services and daily routines remain unaffected.
