Activities planned for the prevention of power failures in the monsoon rainy season!

There are 3.34 Crores electric power consumers for both the high-voltage and low-voltage systems managed by TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company). The Department of Electricity has undertaken various initiatives to ensure uninterrupted power supply throughout the year.
The Northeast Monsoon Rainy Season is scheduled to begin next month (September). The Department of Electricity has taken all necessary measures to ensure a reliable power supply during the monsoon season.
In line with the above, power distribution pillar boxes are being installed at a higher level in low-lying areas. TANGEDCO OFFICIALS HAVE SHARED THE FOLLOWING:
"Initiatives have been launched to prevent any faults in the feeders. New equipment will replace defective/faulty transformers, electric poles, and cables.
We have decided to maintain an ample stock of transformers, energy meters, and fuse wires. To prevent power failure in sub-stations located in low-lying areas, sandbags are being stockpiled."
