The Director of the Chennai Meteorological Center, P. Shenthamaraik Kannan, has issued a weather advisory predicting heavy rainfall in 16 districts.
Due to a low atmospheric circulation over parts of Tamil Nadu, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry states can expect light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning today and tomorrow in some areas. On the 2nd of September, there may be isolated heavy rain in places.
Additionally, light to moderate rain is anticipated in a few areas on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th of September.
Heavy rain is expected in one or two places in the following districts today: Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukottai, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Kallakurichi, Trichy, Salem, Dharmapuri, Namakkal, Erode, Nilgiri, and Puducherry.
Tomorrow, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Ranipet, Vellore, Thiruppathur, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, and Puducherry are likely to experience heavy rain.
Chennai and its suburbs will remain partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. Some areas in the city may experience light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning during the evening or night. The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 99 degrees Fahrenheit, with a minimum temperature of approximately 79 degrees Fahrenheit.
