Regarded as the 5th house of Arupadai veedugal, Tiruthani Murugan temple is now making news.

In the year 1960, the first silver chariot was made and in 2013 the chariot got repaired. As a result, the devotees at this temple were unable to perform the silver chariot arrangement.

It must be recalled that HR & CE minister Mr. Sekar Babu accepted this as the long standing demands of the devotees. The work of making a new wooden chariot commenced on 21st December at an estimated cost of Rs 1917000. At an estimated cost of Rs 38000000, 530kg of silver was used and converted into silver plates and then fixed to the chariot.

It must be taken into account that yesterday on a garlanded special chariot Goddess Valli, Goddess Devayani and Lord Murugan were brought and special pujas were conducted. Chariot procession or Thaeru bavani was inaugurated by the ministers Mr. Gandhi and Mr. Sekar Babu etc.
