Minister E. V. Velu Urges Swift Completion of Chennai Rainwater Drainage Works by September 30

Minister AV Velu has directed the officials to instruct the contractors to complete the rainwater drainage works in Chennai by September 30.
Minister of Public Works and Highways AV Velu held a consultation on the flood prevention works of the Highways Department and North East Monsoon precautionary measures at the Chief Secretariat.
Then the minister said: The contractors should complete the works within the contract period, the main task of the concerned engineers. As the North East Monsoon is about to begin, immediate attention should be paid to removing blockages in drains and making rainwater flow easier.
All the work of the contractors should be completed by September 30. The concerned officers should inspect the works of the contractors.
Following the storm water drainage works, Big Western Road, Inner Ring Road, Valasaravakkam – (Ramapuram route) Valluvar Nagar Road, Additional minor bridge work near Pallavaram Ponds Company, Additional minor bridge work at Crompettai, Bridge across Ottiampakkam stream, High level bridge on Medavakkam – Choshinganallur – Kudimiandi Grove Road. All tasks such as work should be inspected and completed quickly. The minister advised.
