Bengaluru-Chennai Express Highway Set to Reduce Travel Time

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced that the highly anticipated Bengaluru-Chennai express highway is on track to be launched by the year-end or in January 2024. This significant infrastructure development is expected to drastically cut down travel time between the two major cities, making the journey a mere two-hour affair.

Mr. Gadkari shared this exciting news during the 75th anniversary celebrations of Ashok Leyland in Chennai. He also disclosed plans to connect Chennai with Delhi through an access-controlled highway project.

The Union Minister highlighted the growing need for electric buses in the country and stressed the importance of producing vehicles that can utilize biofuels and alternative energy sources. He mentioned ongoing efforts to build an electric cable highway between Delhi and Jaipur.
