Parcel Booking Offices to be set up in the Express Bus Workshops!!

As a measure to increase the revenue without increasing the travel fare, several new plans are to be implemented by the State Transport Corporations.
The plan to carry parcels in the Express Buses commenced last August (2022). This scheme of carrying parcels was introduced in more than 1000 buses and is followed presently.
At present, booking offices for sending parcels are available ONLY in certain important Bus Stations. As a step to expand this, it is planned to set up `Parcel Booking Offices` in all the Express Bus Workshops.
The officials of the Department of Transport shared in this regard:
"The preliminary activities for setting up `Parcel Booking Office` in the 22 workshops owned by the Tamil Nadu State Express Transport Corporation. The project of setting up Parcel Booking Offices is under progress in Chennai Metro City, Trichy, Madurai, Coimbatore, Salem, Thanjavur, Thirunelveli, Pudhuchery and Thiruvananthapuram!"
