The quarterly vacation period for students studying in government and government-aided schools, ranging from the 1st to the 5th Standards, has been extended until the 8th of October.
Initially, the quarterly vacation had been scheduled from the 28th of September to the 2nd of October, lasting for 5 days. However, due to teachers` training requirements for the second term, the quarterly vacation has been extended by an additional 6 days.
In this context, Mr. S. Kannappan, the Director of the Department of Primary Education, has issued a circular to all District Primary Education Officers, stating:
"A quarterly vacation from the 28th of September to the 8th of October is declared exclusively for students studying in the 1st to the 5th Standards in all government and government-aided schools.
Schools will resume normal operations on the 9th of October."
Additionally, it is noted that students in the 6th to 8th Standards in government or government-aided schools should adhere to the calendar schedule and reopen after the quarterly vacation on the 3rd of October.
