The Chennai Drinking Water Board has issued a press release informing the public about an upcoming interruption in drinking water supply for maintenance purposes. This disruption will affect three zones in Chennai on October 17 and 18.
Maintenance Details:
Maintenance work is scheduled at the seawater desalination plant located in Nemmeli, which boasts a daily production capacity of 110 million liters. As a result of this essential maintenance, drinking water supply will be temporarily suspended in the following areas:
- Adyar: From 9 am on October 17 to 9 am on October 18.
- Perungudi
- Choshinganallur
Affected Areas:
The areas directly impacted by this temporary water supply disruption include:
- In Adyar mandal: Taramani, Kottoor Garden, RK Madam Street, Thiruvanmiyur, Velachery, and the catchment areas of Indira Nagar.
- In Perungudi mandal: Kottivakkam, Palavakkam, Perungudi, Pallikaranai, Madipakkam, and Purudivakkam.
- In Cholinganallur: Eenchambakkam, Neelangarai, Akkarai, Ketuvankeni, as well as Choshinganallur, Semmanchery, and Okkyam-Duraipakkam.

The public is strongly advised to store an adequate supply of drinking water in advance to mitigate the inconvenience caused by this temporary disruption.
