The municipal administration minister Mr. K.N. Nehru received a cheque of Rs 43.05 cr. It was handed to him by the HR & CE minister Mr. PK. Sekar Babu.
It is now revealed that out of the total Rs 43.05 cr an amount of Rs 30.30 cr would be spent to improve the infrastructure of the truck terminal in Madhavaram in Chennai. For procuring as many as 51 Bobcat Skid Steer Loaders (to remove garbage from the narrow streets) the remaining funds would be utilized.
Point is that the chief minister for TN Mr. MK. Stalin has asked the departments to be ready with the projects and DPR soon after the announcements. After the allocation of funds and issuance of the order, the works would commence. The chief minister made it clear that the works must be started before the onset of NE monsoons. The minister Mr. KN. Nehru spoke about how CM allocated Rs 2000 cr for roads in the city and how 5000 roads have been repaired.
Monsoon preparedness:
Regarding monsoon preparedness, Mr. KN. Nehru explained that the relief centres have been kept ready now and steps have been taken to provide food to the affected persons. He threw light about how 700 motor pumps have been kept ready to remove water stagnation. It must be taken into account that water bodies have been de-sited.
