Special Festival Trains Announced for Durga Puja in Chennai Central

To accommodate the expected surge in passenger traffic during the Durga Puja festival, special trains will be running on the Chennai Central – Bhubaneswar – Chennai Central and Chennai Central – Santragachi – Chennai Central routes. The details of these special services are as follows:
Chennai Central to Bhubaneswar Specials:
- Train No. 06073, Dr MGR Chennai Central to Bhubaneswar Weekly Festival Special Fare, will operate on October 23, 30, and November 6, 2023 (Mondays). It will reach Bhubaneswar at 18:30 hrs the following day.
- Train No. 06074, Bhubaneswar to Dr MGR Chennai Central Weekly Festival Special Fare, will run on October 24, 31, and November 7, 2023 (Tuesdays). It will arrive at Dr MGR Chennai Central at 15:00 hrs the next day.
The coach composition for these trains includes 2 AC Two Tier Coaches, 2 AC Three Tier Coaches, 12 Sleeper Class Coaches, 2 General Second Class Coaches, and 2 Second Class Coaches designed to be Divyangjan (specially-abled) friendly.
Chennai Central to Santragachi Specials:
- Train No. 06071, Dr MGR Chennai Central to Santragachi Weekly Festival Special Fare, will be available on October 21, 28, and November 4, 2023 (Saturdays). The train will reach Santragachi at 03:45 hrs on the third day.
- Train No. 06072, Santragachi to Dr MGR Chennai Central Weekly Festival Special Fare, will run on October 23, 30, and November 6, 2023 (Mondays). It will arrive at Dr MGR Chennai Central at 11:00 hrs the next day.
The coach composition for these trains comprises 14 AC Three Tier Economy Coaches, 3 Sleeper Class Coaches, 2 General Second Class Coaches, and 2 Luggage cum Brake Vans.
Passengers are advised to make advance reservations for these Festival Special Fare services, which are currently open from the Southern Railway End. These additional trains aim to ensure a smooth and comfortable travel experience for passengers during the Durga Puja festival.
