Every mother who has given birth would want their newborns to be in the pink of health!!
Taking this into consideration, the Kanchi Kamakoti Child Trust Hospital or KKCTH belonging to Chennai has launched maternity services for the well being of the newborns
It was revealed by a release from the hospital that a high risk newborn and obstetric care team would have senior neonatologists Dr. N. Chandrakumar and Dr. V. Vanathi. There would also be leading obstetricians with high risk obstetric care practice in Chennai and across TN.
As per Dr. Chandrakumar, the maternity services would enable the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to provide continuous neonatal care from birth. Point is that there would be long term survival of the newborns that were born too early and are also at high risk. The event witnessed the presence of many obstetricians in Chennai.
The proportion of pregnancies under the high risk category has been increasing now and this was mentioned by a senior consultant (OG), Dr. Jaishree Gajaraj. She added that there was more need for well equipped and dedicated birth units that would have superb neonatal facilities just similar to the ones at KKCTH. For an optimised mother as well as baby care, it was important to shift the high risk pregnant woman in utero.
Now, there is a huge need for maternity services for the sake of high risk newborns. It is said that the first golden hour of the management in these neonates could be better optimised by the neonatal team.
