In a bid to alleviate the anticipated overcrowding on trains during the Diwali festivities, Southern Railway has announced the operation of a special train service between Chennai and Nellai. The decision comes as a relief for passengers looking to travel to and from these two significant cities during the festive season.
According to a press release issued by Southern Railway, the special train, numbered 06051, will run on November 8, 15, and 22. The train will commence its journey from Chennai Central at 11.15 pm and is scheduled to arrive in Nellai at 11.45 am the following day.
In the return journey, the special train, numbered 06052, will depart from Nellai at 3 pm on November 9, 16, and 23, reaching Chennai at 3.45 am. The special train route covers essential stations like Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Trichy, Madurai, and Virudhunagar, ensuring convenient connectivity for passengers.
