To go to the native places for deepavali, many people gathered at the Koyambedu bus stand yesterday. People thronged the Koyambedu bus stand in huge numbers and the Koyambedu bus stand appeared flooded with the passengers. There was a large number of police personnel to control the situation and to prevent any untoward incident.
Since yesterday, buses, trains etc have been crowded by many as many were leaving Chennai to their native places across TN. The passengers have requested that police personnel protect them from the criminals who indulge in mobile phone snatching and robbery etc.
At the bus stand in Koyambedu yesterday, as many as 250 police personnel made their presence felt to help the passengers to have a smooth journey to their native places. They were actively monitoring the bus stand with the help of sniffer dogs etc
It was later mentioned by the police that a large number of people would be going to their native places and from today onwards the Koyambedu bus stand would be overcrowded. There would be a lot of crimes like mobile snatching etc and police security has been strengthened to prevent this. Arrangements have been made for the passengers to travel safely. It must be noted that the passengers have been alerted through loudspeakers. The police concluded that if the public comes across any suspicious persons at the Koyambedu bus stand then the public must inform the police immediately.
