Passengers who arrive at Chennai Airport will not be able to book the train tickets since Southern Railway put the Passenger Reservation Centre shutters down. The facility that was started at the airport in March 1996 came in handy for air passengers who were planning to travel to other districts of Chennai.

Southern Railway was paying a rent of Rs 5000 for this center. The Airport Authority of India has hiked the rent to Rs 15,000. Because of the hike the Railways have closed their booking office.  Now, it has been decided to plan to shift this facility to Tirusulam station. The proposal regarding this has been sent to Railway Board.
