Important orders for the luxury vehicles and maxi cabs etc have come out now

The latest important piece of news is that the Transport Commissioner Mr. A. Shanmughasundaram has issued an order now. According to the order, luxury vehicles would be allowed to be used on rent plus maxi cab vehicles would be given 4 years to pay life tax.
It was later mentioned by some officers from the Transport Commission that it was enough to pay life time tax for the personnel using vehicles of 15, 20 years for just a single time. For the vehicles that were being used for the commercial purposes, it was important to pay life time tax every quarter or annually. Recently, the TN govt has issued an order to increase the motor vehicle taxes is known. The motor vehicles rules were changed to allow the payment of the taxes in one instalment. Truth is that this rule applies even for the maxi cab vehicles with 12 seats used as tourism vehicles.
It is worthy to note that the life tax amount has been fixed at 13% of the vehicle price for the new maxi cab vehicles priced between Rs 5lakhs to Rs 10 lakhs. Likewise the life tax amount has been fixed at 11.75% for 1 yr old vehicles and 9% for 11 years old vehicles. An order was issued to pay the life tax amount in a single instalment.
Based on the union`s request to the commissioner to pay the life taxes, permission has been granted now to pay the life tax in 4 instalments. It is now said that before 30th of this quarter the first instalment should be paid. Point to be noted is that without paying the dues, the vehicles should not be sold.
