Chennai`s suburban train services are resuming following a temporary suspension due to persistent rainfall causing track submersion. Railway authorities announced that starting at 6 a.m., a suburban train will run every half-hour from Chennai to Tambaram. Despite the challenges posed by waterlogged areas, diligent efforts by railway personnel have restored normal operations.
As of yesterday afternoon, suburban electric train services have resumed, with scheduled operations on various routes. Trains will run every 30 minutes on the Chennai Beach - Tambaram - Chengalpattu route, every 30 minutes on the Chennai Egmore - Thiruvallur - Arakkonam route, and hourly on the Tiruvottiyur - Gummidipoondi route. Additionally, there will be a train every 30 minutes on the Velachery - Sengottai route. The Chennai Railway Division emphasizes that this schedule, including Wednesdays, will be followed until further notice.
