Tamil Nadu State Government reviewing plans for distribution of Rs. 1000/- cash and grocery items on the occasion of Pongal in the 2nd week of January!

The State Government of Tamil Nadu has planned to distribute Rs. 1000 in cash and grocery items, including rice, sugar, and a full sugarcane, to all Family Ration Card Holders during the second week of January 2024.
Taking into account the perspective that residents in areas less affected by floods should not be impacted, it has been gathered that the State Government of Tamil Nadu is intending to provide, as done last year, Rs. 1000 in cash, 1 kg of raw rice, 1 kg of sugar, and a full sugarcane, with consideration for the welfare of farmers. A detailed review meeting has already been organized on this matter.
The official announcement regarding this initiative may be released during this week or the first week of January, and the Pongal Gift Pack will be distributed starting from the second week of January.
