Gone are the days when the persons who apply for car driving license tests would have to depend on the private driving schools or have their own cars or vehicles etc!! Times are changing!!
It is now said that the persons applying for 4 wheeler driving licences could use government 4 wheelers or cars for the driving license test purpose for nominal fee at all the regional transport offices or RTOs and motor vehicle inspector or MVI offices etc in TN.
Yesterday, 26th December, the TN chief minister Mr. MK. Stalin made many heads turn when he flagged off cars that would be provided for the driving license tests in 91 RTOs and in 54 MVI offices.
At an amount of Rs 6.25 cr, these cars were purchased by the government and the public could use these cars for their driving license tests. This would make the persons not to depend on any driving school for the driving license tests to obtain the driving licenses. In addition, it would help in curbing bribery in providing licenses at RTOS and in MVIs.
It must be recalled that a government order or GO was issued by the TN govt in this regard & the applicants could use the govt cars (by paying just Rs 50) for getting their driving licenses. It was mentioned that this Rs 50 would be collected along the driving license application fee through Vahan portal.
