The Indian Election Commission is expediting all activities related to the parliamentary elections scheduled for the year 2024. Special camps are being organized in the State of Tamil Nadu for corrections in the voters` list, including additions, deletions, and corrections of names, addresses, and other particulars. The process of compiling the final list of voters is in full swing.
During the special camps conducted in Tamil Nadu, over 5 lakh citizens have applied for various requirements with the Election Commission. In response to the significant number of citizens losing their Voter ID cards due to flooding and the aftermath of cyclone Michaung, adjustments to the release date of the Final Voters` List have become necessary.
Initially scheduled for release on December 5th, the Chief of the Tamil Nadu Election Commission has now announced a new date. The Final Voters` List is now set to be released on January 22nd. This change aims to accommodate those who have faced challenges due to the adverse weather conditions and provide them with sufficient time to rectify their voter-related concerns.
