RTOs seized 80 auto rickshaws during spot checks

The introduction of auto rickshaw meters in the city autos is helpful for the state transport authorities in identifying the illegal auto rickshaws and rickshaw drivers. Right from 15th September – the last day given to all auto rickshaw drivers to obtain rate cards – the RTOs are continually insisting to carry the auto permits and license.
Nevertheless all these steps, during a recent hunt for illegal drivers, nearly 80 such autos got caught. Most of these drivers did not carry proper documents during spot checks.
