The 47th Chennai Book Fair 2024, organized by the Book Sellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI), is scheduled to commence tomorrow, Wednesday, 3rd January, at 4:30 PM. The event will take place at the Nandanam YMCA Grounds in Chennai Metro City and will continue until the 21st of January.
The inauguration of the Book Fair will be done by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M K Stalin. Joining him in the inauguration will be Anbil Magesh Poyyamozhi, the Tamil Nadu State Government Minister for School Education, along with other dignitaries.
The Book Fair will feature 1000 stalls and will be open from 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM on Sundays and festival holidays, and from 2:00 PM to 8:30 PM on other working days of the week.
Eminent personalities will deliver addresses in the Conference Hall, named "Food For Thought," every evening during the 19-day event.
The entrance fee for the Book Fair is fixed at Rs. 10/-. As part of the inauguration ceremony, six creative writers will be honored with the `Kalaignar Treasure Box,` and the BAPAASI Award for the Best Publishers and Librarians will also be presented. These awards will be conferred by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, who will also deliver a special address during the ceremony.
