Experience the Thrill of Jallikattu: 3-Day Chennai to Alanganallur Tour by Tamil Nadu Tourism

The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation has organized a 3-day tour from Chennai for individuals interested in witnessing the jallikattu competition held at Alanganallur in the Madurai district ahead of the Pongal festival.
Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation officials announced that a special 3-day Jallikattu tour will be conducted from Chennai to Alanganallur, a significant location for traditional Tamil heroic games. The tour is scheduled from the 16th to the 18th. Participants who have booked this excursion will be picked up by a dedicated bus from Chennai on the 16th and will be accommodated at the Tamil Nadu Hotel in Madurai.
On the 17th, at 9 am, tourists will be taken to witness the Alanganallur jallikattu competition. After the match, they will return to the hotel and later visit the Meenakshiyamman Temple for evening darshan.
On the morning of the 18th, arrangements will be made to take tourists to Kallagarh and the Solaimalai Murugan Temple in Alaghar for darshan. Those who have booked this trip will be provided with advance tickets for the tourist gallery at the Alanganallur Jallikattu complex. They will be escorted safely to watch the match for more than 3 hours.
If the trip proves successful, plans will be initiated to organize tours from other districts in Tamil Nadu to Alanganallur, Avaniyapuram, and Palamedu jallikattu competitions next year.
