The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there is expected rainfall today (Saturday, 20th January) in the southern and Delta Districts of the State of Tamil Nadu.
A cyclonic formation is prevailing in the lower layers of the atmosphere over the southeast Arabian Sea and the adjacent areas. Due to this, there are prospects for mild to medium rainfall in 1 or 2 places in the Southern Districts and Delta districts of Tamil Nadu State and Karaikkal today (Saturday, 20th January).
A dry climate may prevail in the rest of the districts of Tamil Nadu State and Puducherry.
There are prospects of mild foggy conditions in the early mornings in 1 or 2 places in Tamil Nadu.
A dry climate may prevail in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal from Sunday (21st January) until Thursday (25th January).
Fog Warning:
There are prospects for foggy conditions in 1 or 2 places tonight (Saturday, 20th January) in the Nilgiri District.
Chennai Metro City and its suburbs may remain partly cloudy. There may be light foggy conditions prevailing in the early morning.
A rainfall of 10 mm was recorded at Vedaranyam, Nagapattinam District.
