The Chennai Central railway station and Chennai Egmore railway station are used by many passengers and these railway stations are often congested. The passengers find it difficult to board the trains or to get down from trains in these railway stations. Soon, there would be a solution for this.
The GM of Southern Railways or SR, Mr. R.N. Singh mentioned that Villivakkam railway station would be developed into a terminal to decongest Chennai Central railway station. Point to be noted is that the initial survey has found that Villivakkam railway station would be suitable for a terminal. Mr. RN. Singh later explained about the need to have a fourth railway terminal in Chennai to decongest the existing terminals. There is land available and a detailed project report is being prepared and it will be ready in a month.
