In the future, the highly famous tourist spot Mahabalipuram near Chennai would have a superb modernised bus terminus. An amount of Rs 50 cr would be spent for this purpose. For this, 6 acres of land would be used and the new bus terminus would accommodate 50 buses at one time. Sounds incredible right!!
To attract both domestic as well as international tourists, the bus terminus would be similar to the bus terminus in the developed nations. Mr. V.S. Narayana Sharma, sub-collector of Chengalpet visited the site on Sunday, 4th February.
It is said that this new bus terminus at Mahabalipuram would decongest Chennai that has been witnessing very heavy traffic congestion now. The new bus terminus would cater to the needs of the future demands also. There would be complexes inside the bus terminus. To tackle the water stagnation in the rainy season, the design of the drainage system was discussed.
