Know about the shocking condition of GH in Kancheepuram?

How will you react if you come across glucose bottles in the hospital hung from PVC pipes or broomsticks? Totally shocked right!!
This is the shocking condition of the general hospital or GH in Kancheepuram in TN now. Many in- patients and others visiting the GH are unhappy and disappointed now regarding the lack of basic facilities here. It is well known that Kancheepuram GH is the district headquarters hospital and many from neighbouring districts like Thiruvannamalai, Ranipet etc visit this GH for treatment. Truth is that people from 300 villages nearby depend on this GH only now.
It is really shocking to mention here that the mandatory equipment that is needed to run the hospital has been missing and many times the patients are referred to the GH in Chengalpet. The poor condition of GH has caught the attention now. There are no proper drip stands at this GH and glucose bottles are hung from PVC pipes or even from broomsticks.
In addition, in many places at this GH switch boards have come off and wires jut out. This poses a huge issue of patients getting electric shocks etc. There is more risk of visitors (coming for regular checkups) getting infected easily now as the patients are admitted to the normal wards itself due to lack of beds. Not only the lack of basic facilities has been creating problems in this GH in Kancheepuram, but also the stray dogs here. The hospital administration has not prevented the stray dogs (with blood stains all over their bodies) from entering the hospital premises.
As per an official at the hospital it was clear that the complaints are being looked into and the number of beds has been increased. In addition, fever wards and separate wards for men and women have been set up to cater to the increasing demands.
