Normally, after the completion of thai maasam and in the later part of maasi maasam that is end of March only temperatures would start to increase. Now, in the beginning of the month of February itself, there has been an increase in the temperatures.
It is really surprising to note that the day before yesterday on 7th February in Erode 100 degree Fahrenheit temperature was recorded. The residents there found it very difficult.
In this juncture, Mr. Senthamarai Kannan, director of RMC, Chennai has mentioned that now clouds in the skies have reduced. He added that both humidity and sea breeze have decreased. Asa result, the heat has been increasing now. In this February month, the heat would be higher than the normal in Tamil Nadu. It is learnt that the temperatures especially in the northern coastal districts in TN would increase by 5 degrees Fahrenheit above normal for the next 2 weeks.
