The Public Works Department (PWD) is in the final stages of completing the new block at Kilpauk Medical College, with approximately 80-85 percent of the construction work already done. Despite a slight delay beyond the stipulated date, senior officials from the State Health Department assure that the project will be fully completed by the coming month.
The new block is a crucial component of the Tamil Nadu Urban Care Project, receiving financial support of Rs 149 crore from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). This state-of-the-art facility will house various specialties, consolidating casualty ward facilities under one roof. The anticipated completion next month marks a significant milestone in improving healthcare infrastructure in the region.
