Budget 2024-25 of the Tamil Nadu State Government is being presented today at the Legislative Assembly.
The details of the budget for the field of education development and the educational institutions have been presented.
The Finance Minister of the Tamil; Nadu State Government, Thangam Thennarasu has been presenting the budget of the Tamil nadu State Government for the Financial Year 2024-25 at the Legislative Assembly from 10.00 Am today (Monday, 19th February).
- Rs. 8212 Crores allotted to Higher Education.
- Rs. 440742 Crores allotted to the School Education.
- Rs. 100 Crores allotted to the `Illam thedi kalvi` scheme (education through house visit).
- Rs. 200 Crores allotted to "Naan Mudhalvar" scheme.
- Further, special Job Opportunity Training Centers will be set up in Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai.
- Rs. 6 Crores allocated to provide training for candidates for joining the Central Government Jobs.
- With the above, youth will be offered training in Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai to join jobs in banks and Railways.
- 45 polytechnics offering courses on different branches of engineering will be upgraded to Grade 4.0.
- Rs. 2500 Crores allotted for offering Rs. 2500 Crores of financial assistance for 1 Lakh students.
- Skill Test Laboratories will be set up at a cost of Rs. 200 Crores in 100 Arts & science Colleges under the `Naan Mudhalvar` Scheme.
- An information Technology Park will be set up in Coimbatore at a cost of Rs. 1100 Crores covering 20 Lakh acres.
- The State Government of Tamil Nadu will bear the educational expenses of college students belonging to the third cadre (transgenders).
