In a bid to bolster street navigation and urban aesthetics, Tambaram Municipal Corporation has embarked on a transformative project funded by a ₹5.56 crore grant from the 15th Central Finance Committee. The initiative entails installing new name boards on 2,500 streets and applying luminous stickers to existing ones on 2,300 streets across the municipality.

Zone 1:
600 streets to receive new name boards and luminous stickers, with an additional 500 streets benefiting from illuminated stickers on existing boards, costing ₹1.32 crore.
Zone 2:
Upgrades planned for 400 streets, along with luminous stickers on existing boards for 400 streets, with an investment of ₹90 lakh.
Zone 3:
Initiative extends to 500 streets for new name boards and luminous stickers, along with illuminated stickers on existing boards for 400 streets, totaling ₹1.09 crore.
Zone 4:
Enhancement program for 600 streets with new name boards and luminous stickers, and 600 streets with illuminated stickers on existing boards, costing ₹1.34 crore.
Zone 5:
Installation of new name boards on 400 streets, accompanied by luminous stickers, and illuminated stickers on existing boards for 400 streets, with an estimated investment of ₹90 lakh.
