Prime Ministers Chennai Visit: Details regarding the traffic changes:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Chennai Metro City today (Monday, 4th March) to Participate in the Election Canvass General Meeting at 5.00 PM.  

Intense Security arrangements have been undertaken during this visit of the Prime Minister in Chennai.

There are strong prospects of extremely acute traffic congestion in Chennai Metro City between 12.00 Noon and 5.00 PM during the visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As such, the Chennai Traffic Police Department has requested the schedule of the Prime Minister`s visit accordingly.

In a notification released by the Traffic Police regarding this, the important point to note:

"In the General Election Campaign Meeting at 5.00 PM organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the YMCA Grounds today (Monday, 4th March), Prime Minister Narendra Modi is participating. During the Prime Minister`s Chennai Metro City Visit, it is expected that there would be acute traffic congestion on the roads in Anna Salai surrounding the YMCA Grounds from Anna Salai YMCA Nandaman to the Anna Flyover from 12.00 Noon until 8.00 PM. Passengers programming to travel in these areas are requested to make note of this.

Please note that Commercial vehicles will not be allowed from 12.00 Noon until 8.00 PM today (Monday, 4th March) from Madhya Kailash till Halda Junction, from Indira Gandhi Road Pallavaram up to Kathipara Junction, on the from Poonamallee High Road Ramapuram to the First Kathipara Junction, from Ashok Pillar to Kathipara Junction. From Vijaya Nagar Junction to the first Concord Junction, from Guindy (Anna Statue) to Mount Road, Teynampet Road, and Nandanam Gandhi Mandapam Road WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.

AS SUCH, THE DRIVERS ARE ALERTED AND REQUESTED TO MAKE THEIR TRAVEL ROUTE AND PLAN ACCORDINGLY/

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive at Chennai Metro City Airport from Maharashtra at 1.15 PM.  He will travel by helicopter to Kalpakkam. He will inaugurate the Project planned at the Kalpakkam Atomic Power Station at a cost of Rs. 400/- Crores. After the inauguration, he will travel by helicopter to Chennai Metro City Airport. From the Airport, he will travel by car to the YMCA Grounds at Nandanam to participate in the Election Campaign Meeting organized by the BJP by 4-30-5.00 PM.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave by night from Chennai metro City to Telangana.
