The Southern Railway has issued a notification regarding the introduction of an additional Vande Bharat Express train on the Chennai Metro City-Mysore route. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated this second Vande Bharat Express train between Chennai and Mysore today, Tuesday, March 12th.
Here are the details of the notification:
"Although an additional Vande Bharat Express Train is being introduced on the Chennai Metro City-Mysore section, this second train will initially operate only from Chennai Metro City to Bengaluru until April 4th.
Accordingly, this second Vande Bharat Express train (Train No. 20664) is scheduled to operate six days a week, excluding Wednesdays. It will depart from Chennai Central at 5:00 PM and arrive at Bengaluru at 9:15 PM.
On the return trip, the train will depart from Bengaluru at 7:50 AM (Train No. 20663) and arrive at Chennai Metro City at 12:25 PM. This train will make stops at Krishnarajapuram and Katpadi Stations.
The regular service of the Second Vande Bharat Express train between Chennai Metro City and Mysore will commence from April 5th.
It will depart from Mysore at 6:00 AM and arrive at Chennai Metro City MGR Central Station at 12:25 PM.
On the return trip, the train will depart from Chennai MGR Central at 5:00 PM and arrive at Mysore at 1:20 AM.
The train consists of 8 coaches. Reservation details will be announced shortly."
