Latest Weather Update: Rainfall Continues in Tamil Nadu, Variable Wind Patterns Observed!

The Chennai Meteorological Department predicts ongoing rainfall in Tamil Nadu until April 15th, with Coonoor in the Nilgiris district expected to receive around 12 cm. Recent reports indicate variable wind patterns in the lower atmospheric layers over southern India, with a sub-atmospheric circulation in the Kumari Sea and neighboring regions. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in certain parts of Tamil Nadu today, followed by isolated showers in South Tamil Nadu and Delta districts on the 14th and 15th. Dry weather is predicted for the 16th, 17th, and 18th in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Coonoor recorded the highest rainfall in the past 24 hours at 12 cm, followed by Servalaru Dam in Tirunelveli District (8 cm), Mancholai (7 cm), and Kakachi (7 cm).

The maximum temperature may slightly decrease in Western Ghats districts of South and North Tamil Nadu today but is expected to rise by up to 5 degrees Fahrenheit until the 16th.

In Chennai and its suburbs, partly cloudy skies are forecasted today, with a high of 97°F and a low of 82°F.

Fishermen are advised to exercise caution as cyclonic winds, reaching speeds of 40 to 45 kmph and occasionally up to 55 kmph, are expected in Kumarikadal areas, Gulf of Mannar, southeast coastal areas, and south Kerala coastal areas.
