Southern Railway has announced the introduction of special trains to accommodate the additional influx of passengers. The Train No. 06789, Chennai Egmore-Tirunelveli Special, is scheduled to depart from Chennai Egmore at 12:45 hrs on April 22nd, reaching Tirunelveli at 00:45 hrs. The train route includes stops at Tambaram, Villupuram, Dindigul, and Madurai. Its coach composition comprises one AC two-tier coach, two AC three-tier coaches, ten sleeper class coaches, three general second-class coaches, and two second-class coaches designed for disabled passengers.
For commuters arriving at Kilambakkam bus stand on Monday, the Chennai division is facilitating ten EMU passenger specials from Tambaram and ten from Kattankulathur. These services will stop at all stations between Tambaram and Kattankulathur, including Perungalathur, Vandalur, Urapakkam, Guduvanchery, and Potheri, in both directions. This initiative aims to streamline transportation and ensure convenient travel for passengers during the specified period, as stated by Southern Railway.
