Meteorologist Selvakumar stated on Thursday that many parts of Tamil Nadu may experience rainfall in the second week of May. Thanthi TV reports indicate a steady increase in summer heat across the state. Temperatures are expected to rise until May 6. However, there`s a likelihood of evening rains in bordering districts of Karnataka from May 3. Thundershowers are anticipated in the western part of the Western Ghats, particularly along the Kerala border, on May 4, 5, and 6. This weather pattern may bring about a low-pressure system after the second week of May, potentially leading to widespread rainfall in Tamil Nadu, including Chennai. There`s a possibility of rain, especially in Chennai, on May 9 and 10. Selvakumar attributes these anticipated rains to high-pressure formations in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.
