CMDA Legal Internship: Opportunity for Law Students and Graduates!

Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) is calling for applications for its legal internship program from law students and recent graduates. The program aims to provide hands-on experience in drafting policies, rules, and regulations, as well as assisting with cases, offering valuable insights into Chennai`s urban governance.

The internship comes at a pivotal time as Chennai prepares its third master plan (2027–2046), funded by the World Bank. There are two categories for applications:

A. Current Graduate and Post-graduate students:
Up to 5 students currently enrolled in academic institutions can apply for a 2-month internship. Stipends are provided for the full 2-month duration.

Qualification of interns Stipend per month (INR)
Law students who have completed the 2nd year of a 3 years LLB course / 4th year of a 5 year integrated LLB course. Rs. 8,000/-

 

B. Recent Graduates and Post-graduates:
Graduates and postgraduates who have completed their degree within the past year are eligible. Up to 5 interns per year will be selected for internships lasting between 6 months to 1 year. Stipends are provided for the duration of the internship.

Qualification of interns Stipend per month (INR)
Law graduates who have completed 3 year LLB course / 5 years integrated LLB within a period of 1 year of having passed the final exam as on the date of applying for internship. Rs. 10,000/-

 

Interested candidates should submit their applications, including a CV and Statement of Purpose, by May 10, 2024, 11:59 p.m. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee.
